Our Service
The Oxford Clock Company looks after a wide range of clocks from clients covering a large area of Oxfordshire, the surrounding Counties and London. Our business has been built up on our reputation and by reference and our ability to service those clocks and clients. In our Restoration and Conservation and conservation work we keep as close to the original when making parts whether in style or the materials we use. As an example we predominately use cast brass almost identical to that produced 300 years ago.
For both Restoration, Repair and Conservation detailed records are kept on each item. From a research point of view our Library of over 400 books enables us to provide information to our clients on the clock maker and region that their clocks have come from.
We have a fully equipped workshop with Wheel and Pinion cutting equipment and Precision lathes from the Swiss company Schaublin. We also have a heat treating area and hearth.
For outside work we have built up a network of trained specialists in areas such as dial restoration, whether painted or enamel dials, chinoiserie cases, gilding and wooden cases.
Outside horological items see Oxford Conservation Associates ( OCA ) for a much wider group of skills, such as metal work, picture frames, wood carving, upholstery textiles books and paper, painting restoration.
